David E. Bleiker, Senior Associate Engineer, Eastern Canada Mining Sector Leader

Mr. Bleiker is a Senior Associate Engineer with AMEC’s Earth & Environmental division based in Mississauga (Toronto) Ontario, Canada. He is also Earth & Environmental’s Mining Sector Leader for Eastern Canada. He has 17 years of consulting engineering experience integrating waste management, water management, and geo-environmental expertise into engineered solutions. His experience is across several types of mines and includes acid rock drainage, mine neutral drainage at proposed, operating, closed and abandoned mine sites. His recent experience is focused on the mining industry, however he has worked on water quality and water management challenges in the solid waste, hazardous waste and transportation industries. This experience has included water quantity management, and water quality management including temperature concerns. His experience covers both groundwater and surface water and their interaction. Mr. Bleiker’s experience includes geotechnical, groundwater and surface water studies and detailed design of, water retention dams, tailings dams, excavations and covers.
